However, many established organisations in Offshore Renewable Energy have their personnel and manufacturing operations located outside the region. Furthermore, the most productive sites for Offshore Renewable Energy extraction are not located in Singaporean waters.

In this roundtable session, titled Opportunities and Challenges for the Offshore Renewable Energy Industry in Asia Pacific, we will discuss the most promising forms of Offshore Renewable Energy. We will delve into the importance of the European experience on the effective deployment of Offshore Renewable Energy technology in the Asia-Pacific region. We will also debate how to reconcile the dichotomy of the Singaporean Offshore Renewable Energy research hub and the fact that city-state lies far from the capital and labour resources required for this industry.
