General Info

What is SIEW about?

The Singapore International Energy Week (SIEW) is an annual platform for energy professionals, policymakers and commentators to discuss and share best practices and solutions within the global energy space.

First held in 2008, attendance at SIEW has grown from 2,500 to over 20,000 participants from more than 60 countries at SIEW 2011.

What are the theme and topics?

2012's theme is "Shaping a New Energy Landscape", and reflects the urgent need for a rethink of current energy policies in the face of rapidly-changing energy dynamics. A key highlight of the week was the Singapore Energy Summit (SES), a high-level strategic platform for the foremost political, business and thought leaders to discuss international energy trends and solutions needed for the region to balance its needs for energy security, environmental sustainability and economic competitiveness. SES 2012 will feature four panel sessions on the sub-themes of "Options for the Future Energy Mix", "Financing Tomorrow's Energy Needs", "Keeping the Door to 2 degrees ̊C Open", and "Connecting the Dots: Energy-Water-Food Nexus".

What are the dates of the event?

Singapore International Energy Week 2012 will be held from the 22-25 October 2012.

What  are other key happenings at SIEW 2012?

SIEW 2012 encompasses high-level strategic policy discussions on the first day of the week, and industry-level activities including conferences, trade fairs and networking events which run concurrently throughout the rest of the week.

The strategic discussions are anchored by the Singapore Energy Lecture and the Singapore Energy Summit (22 Oct 2012), where speakers from government and industry will discuss and exchange ideas on pertinent energy-related issues.
Industry-level events under SIEW 2012 include Asia Future Energy Forum, Asia Smart GridDownstream Asia, EMART Asia, Gas Asia Summit, and PV ASIA PACIFIC EXPO.

Asia Future Energy Forum (23-25 Oct 2012) is a brand new forum that will focus on leading-edge sustainable energy governance, business, investment, finance, and technology that enable the smart delivery of clean energy solutions.

Asia Smart Grid (23-25 Oct 2012) is a key platform for smart grid suppliers and providers to network, explore business opportunities and keep abreast of industry developments.

Downstream Asia (24-25 Oct 2012) is part of a global series of conferences that have been running across the Middle East, Europe & Russia for the last 15 years. It covers topics on downstream oil, gas and petrochemicals.

EMART Asia (23-24 Oct 2012) is the first Asian ion of the highly acclaimed EMART Energy conference and exhibition in Europe. Started in 1999 as a 120 people conference, EMART Energy is now the largest annual European energy trading conference and exhibition attracting almost 1,000 participants annually.

Gas Asia Summit (24-25 Oct 2012) is a brand new show from the world renowned Gastech event (www.gastech.co.uk). This will deliver a regionally-focused conference agenda addressing the unique needs of the Asian commercial gas community for both international and regional gas players, from buyer to originator and legal executives.

PV ASIA PACIFIC EXPO (23-25 Oct 2012) covers the gamut of the PV industry chain and brings together industry and government to discuss trends, strategies and policy directions in the solar and PV market.

Other SIEW 2011 events also taking place during the week include the Singapore Electricity Roundtable (23 Oct 2012), the 7th Annual Platts Top 250 Global Energy Companies Asia Awards Dinner (23 Oct 2012), the Think Tank Roundtables (25 Oct 2012), and SIEW Networking Receptions (23-25 Oct 2012).

How do I register for the events?

Am I entitled to the bundled rate?

Delegates that register for the Singapore Energy Summit and any other paid event during SIEW are eligible for discounted pricing.
Singapore Energy Summit + 1 partner event : 10% discount
Singapore Energy Summit + 2 or more partner events : 15% discount

I am part of a supporting organisation, how do I receive my discount?

All members are eligible for 20% discounted tickets to attend the Singapore Energy Summit (SES). Registration is open at http://globalsignin.com.sg/registration/siew2012/?newsignin . I have registered previously for an event under the normal rate. However I would like to sign up for another event, will I be entitled to the bundled rate?

If you have registered for the Singapore Energy Summit in conjunction with any other paidpartner event, you are eligible for a discounted bundled rate. When does registration start and end?

Online registration starts on 18th July 2012 and closes on 15th October 2012.For registration of events other than SEL and SES, you may still be able to register after thisdeadline. Please refer to the individual organizers' website for more details.

The registration has closed. Can you help me to register for my boss?

Registration on SIEW website: For registration of the SEL and SES, please write in to Ms NicoleTan at siew2012@tricom.com.sg with your request. Places will be subject to availability.

Registration on other organizers' website: They have to check with the organizer directly (seethe contact details for respective organizers in Q9 above).

How do I know whether my registration is confirmed?

If you have registered for the SEL, SES or any of the events under the bundled package throughthe website you will receive an auto confirmation reply sent to your email address. If you haveany queries, please check with Ms Nicole Tan at siew2012@tricom.com.sg

E-mails that registered participants will receive:

Acknowledgement E-mail
Sent upon submission of registration, pending verification of registration by EMA and eventpartners.

No payment required at this point. If credit card payment mode had been chosen, the detailsgiven will be stored in a secure server and no deduction will be made.

Approval Email to Registrant
This email is sent to the registrants once all the registered events have been approved.E-mail will request participant to make payment to EMA if cheque mode had been chosen. Forcredit card mode, the system will directly deduct the amount based on the details previouslygiven.

Rejection Email to Registrant
This email is sent to the registrants once any of the registered events have been rejected. Thereason for rejection will be stated in the e-mail.The participant can either log into the registration system to amend his/her registration details(where applicable, for example, change in type of membership) or proceed to register directlywith the individual organizers (if registrant actually does not qualify for member rate and haschosen not to register for the event). A log-in ID will be provided in the e-mail.

Final Confirmation Email to Registrant
This email is sent to the registrants once payment has been received from registrant. Pleaseremind the registrant to print this e-mail for pass collection at the venue.If you have registered at the individual organisers' websites, please check directly with the relevant organizer.

Post Registration

I have registered for the event but not able to attend anymore. Can I cancel? Can I request for a refund?

Cancellations received in writing to siew2012@tricom.com.sg before 2359hr on 15th October 2012 are entitled to refund (minus applicable bank charges) For cancellations received on/after 16th October 2012, we regret that no refunds can be made. There will be no refunds for "No Shows".

I have registered for the event but not able to attend anymore. Can someone else replace me?

Requests for substitution/ replacement of delegate must be made in writing to siew2012@tricom.com.sg before 2359hr on 15th October 2012, and is subject to approval by the organiser.

For substitution requests received on/after 16th October 2012, we regret to inform that it is not allowed.

Where can I collect my event passes?

How do I find my way around?

Are cameras allowed at the shows?

The use of a camera is allowed for the Singapore Energy Lecture and Summit. However, you may want to check with the individual Organisers regarding use of a camera at their events.

What does SIEW do to enhance security at the show?

SIEW works with Marina Bay Sands to ensure the daily security and fire safety management of the venue. Besides managing access to the facilities, crowd and vehicles traffic control, crime and fire prevention, security officers are trained to deal with all types of emergencies, from fire fighting to bomb threat, first aid and full-scale evacuation.
